We get several advertisements and magazines in the mail each seek. Most of them I don't need, so I let Elise play with them. She has a small box, and has created her own stash of papers in it. Periodically she will pull them all out one by one, rip a few, and sometimes even put them back in the box. She has a great time making messes with them. A week or so ago, she was playing with her box and papers, while i was putting the finishing touches on a project. I looked down to discover she had dumped the papers all over the kitchen floor, and was laying on her tummy, waving her arms and legs like she was swimming through the papers. I asked her what she was doing, and she just looked up at me with a huge grin on her face. She was having a blast! I've not seen her do it since, but I imagine she'd have a great time in a kiddy pool. Unfortunately we don't have a yard, but we may have to see if we can find a way to let her try swimming for real one of these days.
