We have been practicing with Elise to give kisses for quite a while. She started out just doing the kissing noise which we called blowing kisses. She has progressed to using her hand to blow the kisses into and give them. She is also learning about giving a kiss on a cheek. She has been working on this for several days now, where when I point with my finger to my cheek and ask for kisses, she will put her mouth there and make kissing noises. On Saturday morning I put her in her high chair for breakfast, and she reached out to give me hugs. I leaned down, hugged her, and asked for a kiss while pointing to my cheek with my finger. She grabbed my finger and kissed it. I thanked her for the kiss, and sat down to get the food ready. What I realized when I looked at her as I sat, was that she was holding her finger out for me. So I reached over and kissed it, and she got a big grin on her face! Elise never ceases to amaze me, and is a joy to be around...and to share all kinds of unexpected kisses with!
