Since Elise has shown lately that she wants to be a big girl and not use her high chair, I've started wondering if I should bring her high chair with us on the plane, and cart it around as we visit, or if I should find a little booster seat for her. The advantage of the high chair is that I can strap her in, and it'll be a familiar thing, in an unfamiliar place. The advantage of the booster seat is that it'll be small, and I'd have one less large item to check on the airplane. Tough choice....any suggestions?

We love our booster seat - It is washable and has a carrying case too. It sticks to the chair and allows them to be up to the table . It is slightly tricky because they can't be strapped in anymore but Jared loves that he is a big boy and can just sit up to the table and not mess with straps. He was so excited to be at the table with us that we didn't have many problems with him escaping.

You might be able to find it elsewhere for a better price - I haven't looked. We just bought it at the Toys R Us here in town. Good Luck!
Well, I have no experience with kids at all. I am all for packing light though so I would go with the booster seat. It's a tough call. Maybe your in-laws know people that have a high chair that isn't being used? Even if it wouldn't be the same high chair she is used to it might help? That way you could have a high chair and not have to pack it with you.
I haven't tried extensive travel with any of mine yet unless it's a road trip, but I do know that there are a couple of booster seats that fold up and are easy to travel with. I think that my sister-in-law uses the either the safety 1st or the fisher price one, which you can get at Walmart.
This is my favorite baby purchase EVER! You can buckle them when you use the tray or when you just push the kids up to the table. ANd it is pretty easy to tote around. We got it at Target for lots cheaper than this website.

At Mom and Dad's house they have a highchair that straps to an adult chair. (We actually have 3 of them in a way because there's one at our house and one at Rose's house too.) I think that Mom and Dad's diningroom table is tall enough that you can leave off the tray and still have Elise strapped in but pushed up to the table like everyone else. That wouldn't solve your travel problem but it might help if it means that you don't have to lug a highchair with you. :) Also, my coworker gave me a stoller for you to use,(she doesn't want it back), it's one of those triangular jogging strollers. :)
