Power Update

There was an announcement yesterday that the Electric company has set their rates for April and May at 52.5 cents per kwh, a change from the 11 cents per kilowatt hour they have been charging. We've successfully cut back hugely on our consumption of electricity, and are hoping that our electric bill will be closer to the $300 level than the $500 for this last month. They also announced that the rate will go back down as people stop using the electricity for heat, as we head into summer time. All in all, it isn't as bad as we thought it might end up, and the government is still trying to figure out if we can ask for, and receive some kind of disaster aid funding from state and national governments. We'll see. In the mean time the weather has been sunny and warm enough that we have gotten by with windows open for light, and even been able to exercise outside by taking a walk at the park and feeding the ducks. So as much as we'd anticipated having to make some huge changes like moving, it seems we'll be here for a while yet!

I just saw that your husband went to West Virginia on his mission How cool! Did he ever serve in the student ward in Morgantown, or in the family ward there? If he did, let him know that the Morgantown family ward has split and now there are two:). We're moving to one of the family wards in August.
